Work of several former members of the guild as well as that of Nancy Belfer, retired professor of Art, at State University College at Buffalo, will be present at the opening.. Preparations are underway for the 2019 Northwest Jazz Festival that will take place on August 23rd and 24th in the Village of Lewiston. The Board of Directors and Jazz Festival Staff will hold a fundraiser, “A Taste of Jazz” at the Brickyard Brewing Company (436 Center Street, Lewiston) on Sunday, March 31st from 4pm – 8pm. The fundraiser will help offset some of the costs of producing the free two-day outdoor music festival.

Nashville Fabrication fabricates 15 to 20 miles of handrail sets annually. Each handrail set comprises multiple levels of tube and posts—equally more than 50 miles of tube per year. Most of the handrail sets are erected in large distribution centers around the 48 contiguous states. The company also fabricates the stairs and erected the stairs and handrails in at least 25 of them.

It will certainly be a revelation to the engineers and designers that there is less sun in the winter. Who knew!

Based on the reported structural and subcellular distribution differences between CUL4A and CUL4B, we hypothesized that there are specific CUL4A and CUL4B requirements for different HIV phenotypes. Previous work showing that HIV-1 Vpr triggers G2 cell cycle arrest by eliciting DNA damage signals (37, 62–66) led us to hypothesize that NLS-containing CUL4B is required for this function. Reports showing that SAMHD1 depletion is triggered in the nucleus (67–69) led us to posit that CUL4B is required for this phenotype as well. UNG2 can be found in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus (38), suggesting that HIV-1 Vpr-directed UNG2 degradation could be set off through CUL4A or CUL4B. In this work, we investigated the need for CUL4A and/or CUL4B for the Vpr and Vpx phenotypes that require the CRL4 ubiquitin ligase and show that the two CUL4 types are exchangeable for G2 cell cycle arrest, UNG2 turnover, and SAMHD1 depletion. Furthermore, we show that in primary human monocyte-derived macrophages (hMDMs), both CUL4 types are required for optimal SAMHD1 depletion by Vpx. Finally, we demonstrate that the subcellular distributions of CUL4A and CUL4B can vary between cell types.
