Print Ingredients 1 18.25-oz box devil’s food cake mix, Duncan Hines1⁄2 cup semisweet chocolate morsels6 oz ready-to-roll white fondant, Wilton1 3.5-oz tube black sparkle gel, Wilton2 cups sweetened shredded coconut12 jet-puffed flat rectangular marshmallows, Kraft StackerMallows1 1.5-oz can black food color spray, Wilton2 6-oz containers white frosting Directions Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 (12-cup) muffin pans with paper liners. Prepare cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes, sprinkling chocolate morsels over batter just before baking. Let cool in pans on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pans, and cool completely on wire rack (about 45 minutes). On a work surface, roll fondant to 1⁄8-inch thickness. Using a 2 1⁄2-inch round cutter, cut 12 circles, rerolling scraps as necessary. Place 1 fondant circle over the tip of a finger; gently press bottom edges to form a ghost shape. Carefully remove ghost; place on a plate. Repeat procedure with remaining fondant circles. Squeeze a small amount of sparkle gel onto ghosts to create eyes. Let stand for 1 hour, or until fondant is firm enough to handle and gel is dry.Sprinkle coconut in a thin layer on one side of a large rimmed baking sheet; place marshmallows on the other side of baking sheet. Lightly coat coconut and marshmallows with food color spray. Use sparkle gel to decorate marshmallows as desired with tombstone inscriptions. Set aside for 1 hour, or until dry. Spread frosting over cupcakes. Sprinkle with tinted coconut; gently press to adhere. Top with ghosts and tombstones.Kitchen Counter Makes 2 dozen cupcakes.
