Chinese factories are in urgent need of a large number of empty containers

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the long lines of ships waiting for berths outside Los Angeles port and Long Beach port, the two major ports on the west coast of North America, have always been a disaster portrayal of the global shipping crisis. Today, the congestion of major ports in Europe seems to have made no difference.

With the increasing backlog of undelivered goods in Rotterdam port, shipping companies are forced to give priority to shipping containers full of goods. Empty containers, which are crucial for Asian exporters, are being trapped in this largest export hub in Europe.

The port of Rotterdam said on Monday that the storage yard density in the port of Rotterdam has been very high in the past few months because the schedule of ocean going vessels is no longer on time and the residence time of imported containers has been extended. This situation has led to the wharf having to transfer empty containers to the warehouse in some cases to reduce the congestion of the yard.

Due to the severe epidemic situation in Asia in the past few months, many shipping companies have previously reduced the number of ships from the European continent to Asia, resulting in a mountain of empty containers and containers waiting for export in the main ports of northern Europe. China is also actively addressing this issue. We are also looking for other ways to ensure the timely and safe transportation of customers’ goods.
